Fishion is a fishing companion app operated by Ibrahim Ahmed (the “developer”, “we”, “us”), based in the United Kingdom. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at fishion@sundappleapp.com.
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store the password itself). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address (or Apple’s private relay address if you choose to hide your email), and an account identifier from that provider instead of a password.
With your permission, the app uses your device’s precise location to show your position on the map, find nearby fishing spots, and fetch local weather and water conditions. Your precise, continuous location is used on your device and is not stored on our servers as a movement history.
When you log a catch while signed in, we store an anonymous catch report: the species, the time and month, the water type, and your location rounded to approximately 1 km before storage. This report contains no name, email, or account identifier, and it powers aggregate community features such as “what’s being caught near here”. Aggregates are only ever shown as combined statistics, never as individual reports.
Your personal catch log (species, photos, notes, dates, conditions) is stored with your account so it syncs across sessions. It is private to you. If you choose to add a photo of your fishing licence to the licence wallet, that photo is likewise stored with your account, is private to you, and is never shared or verified by Fishion.
When you use AI features — catch identification from a photo, or the Coach chat — the photo or message you submit is sent to our server and passed to our AI provider (currently OpenAI, via its API) to generate the response. We do not use your photos or messages for advertising, and our AI provider processes this content as a service provider on our behalf.
Our server keeps standard technical logs (such as request paths and status codes) for security and reliability. Basic diagnostic information, such as app start-up times and error reports, is stored on your device and shown to you in the app’s Diagnostics screen.
We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run Fishion:

We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Your account and catch log are kept while your account exists. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted from our systems. Anonymous catch reports are not linked to your account and remain in the aggregate dataset. Server technical logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email fishion@sundappleapp.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
All communication between the app and our servers uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to server infrastructure is protected by credentials held solely by the developer.
Fishion is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of Fishion after a change means the updated policy applies.
